Telling Tales Inspires the Magic of Reading in Hamilton
Susan Jasper has been inspiring a love for reading among children and families in Hamilton for 9 years now with Telling Tales. The organization peaks around September at their annual festival in Rockton Ontario at Westfield Heritage Village but continues throughout the year with a variety of programming, contests, activities and projects aimed at enhancing literacy among youth here in our community.
On Wednesday, they are having their Kick Off to the festival where they’ll be announcing an exciting line up of presenters, authors and storytellers, as well as sharing information about their upcoming school contest! It’s hosted by Kevin Sylvester himself and Susan hints to us that there many be some very magical attendees. You won’t want to miss it at the Central Hamilton Public Library at 4:30pm. The festival is currently accepting exhibitor applications, volunteer ambassadors and sponsorship. To get involved in this amazing cause, check out the details on their website.
On MorningFile today, Rachel chatted with Susan about the inspiration behind this festival and why it’s so crucial that we have something like this here in Hamilton. Telling Tales is working on a mission to encourage imagination and creativity as an outlet for kids and they couldn’t be having more fun doing it. Whether you’re looking to be inspired, catch a glimpse of magic or enter a neverland filled with stories, be sure to check out Telling Tales’ annual festival this September 17th.
