This weekend Hamilton is hosting the first ever Hamilton International Bellydance Competition (HIBC) on September 9 at the Casbah. Award-winning local bellydancer Eshe came on MorningFile to chat all about the competition and gala show. This event is a one of a kind opportunity to celebrate the art of bellydance and experience some incredible international dancers. The competition will be from 2-5pm and the gala show will follow in the evening from 7-8:30 featuring performances from HIBC winners and other top-level talent.

We also chat about Mahasti - The Bellydance Emporium here in Hamilton and her monthly bellydance events held at the Casbah called Harem. Her studio gives back to the community through special pay-what-you-can workshops with donations to man local and Canadian charities. She has raised $3500 since April 2016 and isn’t slowing down anytime soon. Listen below for our full interview with Eshe herself and be sure to attend this international competition!
