English Conversation Cafe: Learn English, Make Friends

On MorningFile today, Rachel chatted with Chun Zhang about the English Conversation Cafe hosted at St. John's Lutheran Church. Every Wednesday, newcomers to Canada and community members are welcomed to gather for coffee, treats and conversation! They discuss different topics each week and work on building conversational skills as well as aiding with the adjustment to a new country in any means that they can. The group's mission is to establish relationships past the resources offered and build lifelong friendships as well as support for new families here in Hamilton. 

The Cafe is an initiative open to everyone and is truly a rewarding space as we hear Chun discuss the many success stories that have come out of it. There is a session tomorrow night with the topic, "Go to school or find a job? How do you plan your life" as well as a multicultural potluck dinner happening next Wednesday May 10th!
