Explore local farms with Hamilton Farm Crawl
Hamilton Farm Crawl started in 2011 by the owners of Manorun Organic Farm, Weir’s Lane Lavender & Apiary, and Jerry’s Berries. They wanted to create an event to highlight agritourism in Hamilton and show the fun side of farming to the public. They expanded the project in 2013 after gaining more exposure and popularity, including several other farms located all across Hamilton. The organization is a non-profit and all proceeds from ticket sales go into covering the costs of the events.
This year, Farm Crawl Hamilton will be taking place June 2nd, July 14th, and August 18th all from 10am to 4pm. Tickets range from $5.00 for youth to $30.00 for a complete family pass. This years line-up includes 11 farms ranging from alpaca farms to lavender farms. The diverse range of farms means that you will be learning about a diverse amount of different practices as well as never being bored.
Supporting local farms is not by any means a new concept but it is one that deserves to grow. Aiding the farming community surrounding Hamilton, while getting natural products, is a healthy, win-win scenario. It is important to support local businesses and initiatives.
The Farm Crawl provides a fun, educational, and active way to spend your Saturday morning.
