Democracy at Work: MPP candidates from Hamilton West - Ancaster - Dundas debate at McMaster University

The Provincial General Election is upon us and on June 7th, 2018, Ontarians will vote for the next provincial government.

A few days ago, candidates from the Hamilton West – Ancaster – Dundas area came to McMaster University for a candidates debate. Started by a McMaster Students Union initiative called MacVotes, the debate is a way to help students have the tools and information they need to do an informed vote.

The candidates at the debate are as follows:

Liberals: Ted McMeekin
PC: Ben Levitt
NDP: Sandy Shaw
Green: Peter Ormond

Candidates gave opening and closing statements, then answered a number of student and community focused questions. Questions about inter-regional transit within Hamilton, plans about experiential learning for students, and many more were asked. Find out more about candidates here.

Post-secondary students that are eligible to vote must be:

•    Canadian citizen
•    Over the age of 18
•    Residing in Ontario
