Guitar Strings and Kidney Things™: Benefit Concert for Kidney Disease (featuring Born Ruffians)

In 1997, at the age of 19, David Angus became the first person in Hamilton to remove both of his kidneys laparoscopically to receive his kidney transplant donated by his father, Ken Angus.  To celebrate his 20th anniversary of the transplant that ended his life with kidney disease, both David and Ken Angus established Guitar Strings and Kidney Things™ in 2016 to give back. 

The organization has raised approximately $14,000 through their event at Collective Arts Brewery in 2017 and another $27,000 at their event in 2019 featuring Jane’s Party and Lowest of the Low to support St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, where he received his treatment. 

In hopes of continuing this legacy of generosity, Guitar Strings and Kidney Things will be holding a concert this coming Saturday to continue raising awareness for kidney disease and support St.Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton’s Kidney Care Program. 

The Event

Benefit concert featuring live music from Born Ruffians this Saturday on October 1st, 2022 at 8:00PM. Located at Bridgeworks, 200 Caroline Street North, Hamilton ON, L8R 0A6. Every ticket sold will support St.Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton’s Kidney Care Program.
