SUPERCRAWL: Live Supercast 2017
Our annual live broadcast at Supercrawl was jam-packed this year with interviews from the top performers and community groups involved in the magic of Supercrawl's 9th year. A variety of CFMU hosts hit the streets live to air from the AGH Annex in a beautiful sunshine filled room. Check out some of our full interviews below!
First off, we had Lenore Lukasik-Foss start us off for the day! We chat about SACHA and the incredible services they offer Hamilton. Take Back the Night is coming up and we also discuss an awesome new online and texting pilot that they've launched.
Next, Julie from Julie & the Wrong Guys hit the hot spot to chat about their tunes!
We had the ever-so-lovely James Fry on to share a few jokes and present some information on his new photography exhibit launching at Redchurch Cafe + Gallery this fall! His exhibit features rare and never-seen-before shots from 90s rock bands like Oasis.
Dan Edmonds sat with Kristin Archer of I Heart Hamilton and Rachel Connell to discuss the excitement of playing a Supercrawl stage.
Then we had Kristin swap seats and talk on behalf of The Inlet, joined by Bilijana Njegovan and Tom Allen! These journalists know #HamOnt like the back of their hand, so we were eager to chat about how they started this now viral city blog and event platform.
Trish LeClair from Hamilton's Children's Choir was a busy lady this weekend but we managed to steal her away from the Kid's Foam Party long enough to chat about the Children's Choir!
Kristin led an interview with the Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra and Black Collar Union about their Indie collaborations.
Then CFMU's Programming Director, Jamie Tennant took the mic to chat with Hamilton Arts Council Lit Committee member Noelle Allen!
While sharing the space with Collective Arts Brewing, we managed to steal Matt Johnston for a quick chat about Collective Arts and their growing impact on Hamilton's arts and music culture.
Then of course we had to chat with Young Rival's Aron D'alesio about his solo album and how incredibly successful it has been since it's release. We got all the details on his Supercrawl set prior to him hitting the stage at Mill's Hardware.
Lyla Miklos joined us for lots of photos and energy surrounding this year's Maggie Awards!
Local favourite, Steve Strongman joined us for a laid back chat about what he's been up to and how it feels to keep coming back to Supercrawl year after year! The, Ryan Ferguson came on the mic to chat about the upcoming Hamilton Film Festival put on by the AGH.
We closed the day off with an awesome interview with Donovan Woods before he headlined Saturday night!
Until next year, thanks to all who came out, smiled or waved our way, and to the awesome team that put it all together - including our awesome DJ back at the station, Daniel Dell from Listen Closely!
