McMaster University: Athletics & Recreation COVID-19 Update
The 2020 Fall semester has been a series of gut-shots coming in the form of closures and cancellations. McMaster’s Athletics & Recreation facilities are not exempt from this. Luckily for you, there are some openings, as well as some hope for opening in the future. Consider this article your quick reference guide to closures and openings. But for now, dust off the milk-jugs-on-a-broomstick weights, stay safe and stay healthy!
Although your local Gold’s Gym may be open for lift o’clock, McMaster Athletics & Recreation facilities remain closed through the Fall term. This includes The Pulse, DBAC, and the outdoor tracks on-campus. There is currently no timeline for potentially re-opening the facilities for the Winter term. Keep an eye on the McMaster social media accounts for future updates.
OK, so you’re a high-performance human machine but there’s nowhere to perform; what to do? Well here’s some good news for a change: why not take the opportunity for a tune-up? As of July 13th the Sport Medicine & Rehabilitation Centre is open for appointments. The clinic has adopted new COVID-19 health and safety procedures to make sure your appointment goes off without a hitch. To check out the new procedures and booking click here.
To compensate for the facilities closures on-campus, the university announced changes to fees for the fall semester. Included in the changes was a 75% reduction to the University Athletics & Recreation Activity Fee.
