Strange Notes is a deep dive into esoteric rock'n'roll and musical movements across time and space.
Thematic shows explore the historical and social dimensions of underground and aboveground music, from psychedelia from around the world, heavy rock, punk, folk, R&B, and beyond. Special guests on select shows share perspectives on collecting and listening to rare music, from weird and wonderful, and obscure to absurd. While you can be guarateed a great playlist each week, special narrative shows include research, as well as stories and perspectives on what makes featured artists and genres worth sharing and knowing about.
While we love 20th century music, we sprinkle shows with a selection of new artists we think you should know about.
